Working Group

Purpose: 

To facilitate collaborAction, service delivery and support to adults, families & seniors who are precariously housed or experiencing homelessness.  All of our programs are all based at St. Margaret New Toronto.

Principles:

• Anti-Oppressive & Anti-Racist 
• Harm reduction
• Non-judgemental 
• Belongingness
• Create safer spaces for BIPOC, 2SLGBTQ++, newcomers and other marginalized groups. 

Practices:

Community Support Center (CSC) will operate several days a week and include: 

• Food security and food distribution
• Hygiene care, laundry, showers
• Digital Access 
• Harm reduction services and education 
• Case management
• Health Promotion including community information referral program
• Capacity building for those with lived experience via paid work
• Food pantry

CSC Activities are currently supported by LAMP Community Health Centre in partnership with St. Margaret New Toronto. Other programs/activities (current and planned for the future): 

• Space for families to gather
• Summer camp 
• After school programs for children and youth
